Did you know? that even if you "purchased" a movie on Amazon streaming it can still unexpectedly be removed from you being able to watch.

Jellyfin

For watching Movies and Shows

A self hosted streaming service that can host most media types but is mostly setup to share Movies and Shows with friends and family.

You can use Jellyfin in the browser or through applications at this url (watch.abazs.com) or if you are having speed issues and are on the Round River Wifi using the direct IP (192.168.1.101:7796) might help.

Jellyseer

Can be used to discover movies and shows and request they be added to Jellyfin
You can also report errors with Jellyfin content so that it can be fixed.

Access it at (discover.abazs.com) and you should be able to log in with the same name and password as you use for Jellyfin.

PeerTube

Is a YouTube clone that is open source, self hostable, and federated. I do not currently have a self hosted site but TILvids is a good one.

A Less Bad YouTube

Short videos are generally stuck with where the creators are posting them which is still primarily YouTube but there are some things one can do to still enjoy those videos but taking Google as much out of the equation as possible.

uBlock Origin

A good open source browser plugin ad blocker is a great start to using YouTube without the horrible user experience of the ads but because of a recent change to Chrome you will also want to switch to a different browser as Chrome has changed the rule prioritizing corporate tracking and advertising over user privary and functionallity.

FreeTube

Is an application that will import all your watch history and subscriptions from YouTube into an application that runs directly on your computer and streams the videos you want to see without the ads, creepy recommendations, and tracking of the YouTube website.

NewPipe

Is an app for your phone that allows you to use YouTube without all the tracking and junk of the native app. The easiest way to install NewPipe and many other open source apps is to use F-Droid
